Note: This information is only meant to be a brief preview to give
you a glimpse into the power of the knowledge base contained within the
Human Design System. The study of this knowledge requires extensive additional
training and detailed information.
Human Design
System is based on a few major concepts:
· There are just 5 distinct
types of human beings: three energy types – Manifestor,
Generator, and Manifesting Generator, and two non-energy
types – Projector and Reflector, each having their distinct strategy for success. When this is not
followed, they lose their energy and power through strong negative feelings.
· The concept of 'Not-Self' refers to when someone is living from their conditioned life (not following their specific strategy and having no real sense of who
they are).
· Any center we have open
(white) in our chart is where we are open to conditioning from others. As their aura come in contact
with ours we amplify whatever is going on for that person if they have a
defined (coloured) center that we have open. This can
cause us to live out a life that’s not our own.

Manifestors (about 8% of the whole population), are pure energy
beings, the only true initiators, designed not to be controlled by anyone. They can easily act or put things directly into action. But
they need to inform those who will be affected by their
actions what they are about to do before they act. Otherwise, they meet strong resistance from the people involved who can feel ignored. As a result, Manifestors can end up feeling very disconnected from the
people around.
Strategy for success: inform before
acting.
Predominant negative feeling:
anger.
The 'Not-Self' Manifestors rebel or conform
but never inform. Their anger is deeply repressed and they may appear very polite and gracious until they meet the resistance associated with not informing. Then, the
latent anger erupts swiftly and without warning, especially if they are emotional.
Generators (about 35% of the whole population), are the most
powerful of all the types, but unless they understand how they work and follow their strategy for success, they are the
most frustrated people alive. Generators are designed to respond
to life; they have to wait until life initiates them
first, having no idea of where they are going until they respond. They know what is right for
them to do or say only by their response to
something. The response comes from deep in their abdomen and is usually in
non-verbals
like: "u-nun", "a-hunh", "mmmm",
and "ahhhh". When they initiate, they frequently get
involved in the wrong things, meet resistance, get frustrated and quit.
Strategy for success: do not initiate, wait
to act until you are clear about your response.
Predominant negative feeling:
frustration.
The 'Not-Self' Generators: struggling to
initiate without waiting to respond to what life will naturally bring to them, they meet all kinds
of barriers and resistance. These cause huge
frustration and Generators often give up. They
rarely stick at anything long enough to achieve the mastery that is their true potential when thoroughly following the process
step-by-step. Most Generators end up being locked up in unfulfilling work or
relationships.
Manifesting
Generators (about 35% of the whole population), are
Manifestors with Generators’ strategy. The main difference between Generators and Manifesting Generators is that after waiting to respond to something,
Manifesting Generators can act more quickly than pure Generators. They have an endless supply of
energy, and they love to be in the thick of life. Their
true power lies in waiting for opportunities and people to come to them. When they relax,
their lives are fluid and fun, but when they
chase their goals and dreams they encounter
a lot of resistance and pain. Strategy for success: wait before
responding to something, but once started, go full speed ahead; may even skip steps or delegate most details.
Predominant negative feeling: frustration
and anger.
The 'Not-Self' Mainfesting Generators are
frequently impatient and even aggressive, always trying to initiate and manifest. As a
result, they meet resistance through which they smash repeatedly, damaging their body and health.
Projectors (about 20% of the whole population), have a
natural gift of working with and guide the energy of
others, but only when they are recognized and appreciated for their unique skills and individuality. They only know this
when they receive an appropriate invitation. Without such an
invitation, they don’t know whether they’re able to put their talents and abilities to use in a
natural and healthy way or not. When they try to act or to join in without an invitation, they only meet resistance and are not
acknowledged by
others. Only the Projectors can completely understand
both Manifestors and Generators, and the key to their
amazing power is
recognition. Unrecognized and uninvited, they are powerless. Once they are recognized, for who they really are
- according to their specific design - they can achieve anything. To know what
invitations are good for them, Projectors need more
knowledge of their own inner design than Manifestors or Generators.
Strategy for
success:do not pursue or initiate, wait for all special invitations in life: marriage, career,
family, love, major events.
Predominant negative feeling:
bitterness.
The 'Not-Self' Projectors are always
trying to manifest, initiate, or to be seen by people who simply
don’t recognize their ability to guide. When meeting resistance, they become bitter and resentful as they end
up having to compromise. As non-energy types (having no consistent access to their own energy), they frequently find themselves
exhausted.
Reflectors (about 2% of the whole population) are
open to the world in every way, since they have nothing fixed in their nature
to rely upon (none of the 9 centres are
coloured in). If they don’t understand how their inner design works they can feel lost and overwhelmed by
life. They often take others in very deeply,
being deeply disturbed due to lack of self-knowledge and adverse
past conditioning. They can avoid great disappointments in life f they can understand their
openness and how to work with it: before making major decisions, they need to wait out the
cycle of the moon (28.5 days) ; it’s this movement of the moon through the zodiac that gives the Reflectors access to
their own inner wisdom only over time. They have a fixed lunar
pattern that repeats every month, sometimes being like a Projector,
sometimes like a Manifestor, or like a Generator. Reflectors need to understand more about their own design and the Human Design
System than anyone else to be able to successfully apply their strategy for
success.
Strategy for success: Wait out the moon
cycle (28.5 days) before making any major decisions.
Predominant negative feeling:
disappointment.
The 'Not-Self' Reflectors are often
confused and lost, left
feeling disappointed with others and sadly depressed by the resistance they meet in trying to initiate or manifest. Instead of being the focal point of a
community they often end up feeling left out. Not
understanding their design and strategy, they often have to endure constant
identification with other people’s emotions, stress, or
anxiety.

The Centers:
H: Head center: one of the two ‘pressure’ centers (the other one being the Root center), it represents the inspiration. It fuels - inspires - the mind (Ajna
center, the mental conceptualizing process). If
it’s coloured in your
chart, you’ll have a huge pressure to understand, make sense of or know what your inspiration is all about. It’s
biological aspect is the pineal
gland.
A: Ajna
center: it’s function is
mental conceptualization which is fueled by the Head center.
The mind is a computer meant to research, measure,
compare, analyze; it doesn’t know what is good for us, and can’t make good decisions
for us - despite our ‘Not-Self’ conditioning otherwise. Using it as a
decision-making tool is the greatest mistake we can make. The mind is not equipped to let go, therefore we have to
live all the consequences of acting on
decisions made from this centre. Chronologically, is our second awareness centre (our
mind consciousness). The mind’s fear is anxiety. It’s biological
aspect is the pituitary
gland.
T: Throat
center:is the centre of manifestation –
primary: doing, secondary: talking; however, it’s not a motor, but a gear
box. It’s the most complex of all the centers as it has the most gates (the point where a channel enters a center). It is the centre of communication that can lead to doing only when it’s directly connected to one of the four motors in
the bodygraph (E, SO, SA, or R).
Biologically it relates to the thyroid & the para-thyroid glands – so it’s theme
is metabolism.
G: G center: is the centre of our identity, it’s about a sense - or lack - of identity, and it has
two themes: love and direction. Inside this centre is the Magnetic Monopole that holds
us together in our illusion of separation, and simultaneously
keeps pulling us outside of ourselves; in that sense, the G center is about
love. It’s secondary function is to give us our trajectory in
life, our movement in space,
and in that sense G center is about direction.
Its biological attribute is the liver and the blood.
E: Ego or Heart center: the smallest centre
in the bodygraph, it’s a very powerful motor, which drives our will and ego
powers. It theme is all about surviving in the material
plane in established communities. Unlike the other three motors (SO, SA, and R), it can’t be
pressurized by the Root center, as there is no channel connecting the two.
It has a very important biological significance as the four gates coming from the
Heart center relate directly to the physical heart itself, the stomach, the thymus gland and the gall bladder.
SO: Solar Plexus center: is our only
emotional centre, and at the present time is yet a powerful motor: so powerful that anyone who has the Solar Plexus defined in their chart has it as their authority in their lives. At this stage in human evolution this centre is
going through a great evolutionary change, and will eventually be our third awareness
centre, (our spirit consciousness). The themes related
to this centre are: feelings, emotions
and sensitivity; its fears manifest as nervousness.
Biologically, it relates to the kidneys, the prostate, the pancreas and the nervous
system.
SP: Splenic center is our oldest, the first
awareness center that we have (our body consciousness). Its frequency is in the
‘now’, and it has to do with our fears. It’s job is to
keep us healthy and alive. It’s themes are health, feeling
good, and survival. Biologically it relates to the lymphatic system, the spleen and the spleen
cells.
SA: Sacral center: is the most powerful motor of our life force. If you could cut open the Sacral
centre you’d see a huge energy vortex operating in a spiral in the body. It represents the life force itself and
continues to run until we die. When exhausted it goes through
a period of regeneration. Everyone who has it defined in their chart is either a
Generator, or a Manifesting
Generator. The Sacral center
speaks, it makes
sounds. All Generators are noisy beings (with the
exception of those who only have the 34th gate and nothing
else fixed in the Sacral center). They make noises in response to what comes towards them;
they make noise while eating and making love.
Its themes are sexuality, fertility, vitality,
movement and persistence.
R: Root
center:is the other pressure centre (the other one
being the Head center), as well as a motor. But unlike the Head
center, which pressures from above, the
Root center pressures from
below. It relates to the adrenal glands and is all about how
we experience and express
stress. Such a
pressure moves us through the world, pressurizing us to evolve and
adapt continuously.
